These cute bar shaped little flip locks sit on the edge the finished edge of the front flap of any bag. They are so pretty and very easy to install! Also available in Gold.
These little cuties are not very deep inside and can really handle a front flap that is about 1/8" (3mm) thick or one that can be compressed to be that thick (foam). I recommend a strong layer of bag stabilizer, such as Peltex, Timtex, or Fast2Fuse inside your front flap for strength.
Position the Bar Lock over the finished edge of a bag flap or strap closure and a removable pen/marker/chalk to mark cutting holes. You can notch out the hole for the flip closure completely, but I would use a leather punch or awl to cut out the holes for the screws.
Use clear drying fast grab glue such as Beacon 3-in-1, E-6000 or Gutterman glue on both pieces so that they stay in place.
Use a mini screw driver to screw in the 2 provided screws.
Simply attach the flip part on the bag front using the provided washer, using the same technique as you would for any magnetic snap.
** Caution: This bag lock could be bumped and flipped open. This please be sure to test and see if it suits your project.
